The main objective of the study is to explain the events taking place in South Asia and make plans in order to form public opinion about the region so that there can be long-lasting peace and development in the region. There are various fields regarding which this desks presents a thorough anaysis and research, factual data, suggestions regarding a policy and it also predicts the events that may take place in any field such politics, international relations, defence, settlement of disagreements and human rights issues in South Asian region. We specifically focus on Terrorism, the ties between Pakistan and India and Jammu and the issue of Kashmir. However, the use of analysis and research is the most important aspect of this desk. This desk provies research for the organizations responsible for making decisions, people influencing the perceptions, academics and civil society. Suggestions with regard to the region of South Asia are also provided by our desk. Our objective is to promote peace by providing research and interacting with those people who are responsible to make decisions in national and globle arena. We are also of the opinion that any conflict can be understood by sharing useful information which is vital in order to find the solution of a conflict, hence, in order to have harmany and development not just in the South Asian region but also the world, a fair discussion on unprejudiced research and data is crucial. The importance of the thinks tanks is increasing day by day for policy makers and observers in the whole world as they help not only to understand lots of problems present in a country but also suggest their solutions. In Pakistan, these think tanks are also gaining importance, however, keeping in view the challenges present in Pakistan, it is vital to increase the number of think tanks in order to have more in-depth analysis of the situation in Pakistan and find solutions. Pakistan is situated in the middle of the Southeast Asia and Central Asian States and there are several political problems present in these regions. These politicl challenges have a deep impact on the relationship between the states in these regions, moreover, the people living in these regions are also affected by them. In addition, the world has also now started to take interest in these regions as the world powers are showing interest in them as well and the reasons behind the interest of world powers in the region of Southeast Asia is the ever-increasing population. On the other hand, Central Asia's natural resources have attracted the global powers there. Therefore, the establishment of a think tanks was the need of the hour in order to find out about the political disputes, the problems with regard to defence and propose effective solutions for the researchers and policy making institutions who are concerned and curious about the events unfolding in these regions. "East Asian and Central Asian Desk or EACAD" has been set up for research purposes as the central point of its research will be on the political struggles against the state in the region, the issues among the countries in both regions, any ethnis or religious based conflicts, challenges with regard to defence, the armed rebellions in the states and actions of non-state actors in both regions. Moreover, after research, the interested people will have the access to authentic information with regard to the disagreements, wars, and defence and we are positive that other researchers, think tanks, policy makers and even educational institutions will highly benefit from these researches and data gathered by PICSS.
The purpose of GMSD is to provide unbiased solutions with regard to serious defence and security issues of Pakistan and rest of the world by using systematic and methodical skills.
Public diplomacy is refered to as people's diplomacy as well and its objective is to have a direct communication with the people of other countries and persuade them to be in favor of a certain policy of government. Several methods are used in public diplomacy to influence the opinion of the foreign audiences such as decision makers issue statements, government organizations run some campaigns in this regards, and attempts by government to convince the international media to present the government policies in a positive manner. In the case of Pakistan, ever since the cold war ended, Pakistan has been negatively portrayed in the international media particularly in the course of War on Terror and when Pakistan was facing lots of challenges internally. Although, with the passage of time, Pakistan has succeeded in making the security situation better in the country yet her negative portrayal in the media has not changed. Media still presents Pakistan as a terrorist country. Now that Pakistan has been successful in decreasing terrorism, has successive democrative governments and is becoming a stable, therefore the next goal of Pakistan is to achieve economic progress through foreign investment, by spreading her culture by showing local entertainment content to international audience and promote tourism. Pakistan can accomplish those targets if Pakistan succeeds in presenting itself in a positive manner. Changing the opinions of foreign public, policy makers and leaders is the need of the hour. Although a public diplomacy division exists in the foreign office of Pakistan yet it still needs to be decided that what strategy should Pakistan follow and who will be involved in this whole process. Pakistan is also uncertain about responding to the negative portrayal in international media. For these reasons, this desk needs to find out how to use public diplomacy in a more effective manner.

The objective of GKSR is to strive for peace and stability in the region of South Asia particularly in Kashmir so that the miseries in Kashmir can be diminished and this conflict is settled. For these reasons, this desk has worked in order to build more stable ties with people, interest groups and organization not only in the region of South Asia but in whole world such as involving policy makers and implementers, parliamentarians, polictical and social activists, legal representatives, media persons and people working in acadmics. The working of this desk also includes creating an environment for reconciliation and peace and increasing the abilities of civil society actors so that they can carry out their efforts in the process of reconciliation, negotiations and play their part in the solution of this conflict.
